A Customizable Process for Our Sandwich Franchise Owners

Ready to take the first step toward becoming the proud owner of a Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop franchise? We are so excited to get to know you and to welcome you into our family. In order to get you to your grand opening, we’ve created a 10-step process. However, we realize that every prospective owner is different and may prefer to move at their own pace. That’s why we’ve made our steps customizable to each owner and we’ll move as fast or as slow as necessary.

Our number one priority is making sure you are fully prepared to hit the ground running—and impress each and every guest with our incredible sandwiches. These steps are just a general outline of the process.

Step 1 Inquiry
Do you have a love of food, a passion for people, and a desire to build your own business? Perfect. That’s exactly what we’re looking for. After you’ve browsed through our website and familiarized yourself with our brand, our mission, and what our franchise sandwich shop has to offer, it’s time to reach out to our team! Visit our Get Started page and provide us with your contact information—we’ll be in touch shortly to discuss your interest.
Step 2 “Getting to know you” Phone Call
During this call, we’ll determine if you’re a good fit for us and if we’re a great fit for you. This call is designed to gauge your level of interest in our franchise. We’ll answer any questions you have and get to understand your expectations of this endeavor. How fast do you want to go? Will you need assistance with financing? What is most important to you when making this decision? These questions and others will be covered during our discussion.
Step 3 Validation/Due Diligence call

Following our first phone call, and after you’ve had some time to review the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), we’ll follow up on your interest and dive deeper into financial data, your financial ability, available territories, and more.
Step 4 Financial Qualification
If you’re in need of financing, we’ll discuss your options and can refer candidates to one of our financial partners.
Step 5 DEVELOPMENT TERRITORY DETERMINATION
During this conference call, you’ll meet Dennis Watts, our VP of Real Estate. We’ll match your desired territory with our analytics to determine a targeted territory. Visit our Available Territories page to learn more about what areas are currently open.
Step 6 MEET THE TEAM
Also known as our Discovery Event, this can be done remotely or in person. During this event, you’ll meet members of our leadership team as well as members of each department. We'll discuss all questions you may have regarding marketing, training, etc. prior to executing a development agreement.
Step 7 EXECUTE AREA DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
It’s time to execute the agreement! You’ll also pay any fees and schedule a real estate planning meeting.
Step 8 SITE SELECTION & BUILD OUT
Watch your future Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop franchise come to life! You’ll work with our real estate and construction departments for every phase of this process, from finding the location to negotiating the lease to building it out and getting it equipped for opening day.
Step 9 Training
Our training process includes both corporate as well as local restaurant training. This three-phase program consists of online, corporate shops and classrooms, and on-site restaurant training at your Capriotti’s prior to opening as well as afterward. We’ll make sure you—and your entire team—are more than ready to impress your guests from day one.
Step 10 OPEN A CAPRIOTTI’S!
The day is finally here! After all your hard work, dedication, and preparation, you’ll finally open your doors to your friends, neighbors, and community. Our team will be with you to help you work out any issues that arise and to answer any questions you or your team may have. Most of all, we’ll be there to celebrate the start of your exciting journey with Capriotti’s.
