From Franchisee to VP of Brand Expansion at Capriotti’s and Wing Zone, Meet Glynn Chambers

Recently, we sat down with Glynn Chambers, Vice President of Brand Expansion at Capriotti's and Wing Zone, to learn more about her remarkable journey from being a Quiznos franchise owner to her current role as a key leader in the expansion of our thriving franchise brands. Glynn's experience in the food and beverage industry, coupled with her dedication and passion for the brands she represents, has shaped her into a pivotal key player in driving success and growth.

Becoming a Franchisee:

Glynn's franchise journey began when she and her husband relocated to the East Coast to be closer to family. At that time, there were no Quiznos restaurants in the DC, Maryland area. Driven by passion, Glynn and her husband opened three Quiznos in downtown DC, surrounding the White House. Despite corporate challenges, she enjoyed the experience and took pride in managing the business alongside her husband.

After a few years as a Quiznos franchisee, Glynn and her husband sold their locations and Glynn transitioned to work for Burger King as a Franchise Business Consultant, managing around 75 restaurants. Here, she learned the intricacies of the franchise model and developed a deep understanding of the legacy partners who had worked their way up through the ranks. This experience honed her skills in supporting franchisees to achieve success.

The Leap to Capriotti's & Wing Zone

From Burger King she joined Five Guys corporate team, further diversifying her experience. However, she eventually felt that the brand's objectives didn't align with her ambitions. It was then that she reconnected with David Bloom, Chief Development and Growth Officer at Capriotti's and Wing Zone. Within two weeks, Glynn traveled to Las Vegas to meet with David and the leadership team, ultimately making the decision to join the Capriotti’s team, where she would serve as Vice President of CapMastery (Franchise Operations).

With Capriotti's and Wing Zone's rapid growth, Glynn's role evolved to VP of Brand Expansion, where she has taken the lead on the opening process for all franchise partners. Glynn’s role includes working very closely with the design and construction teams, where she focuses on ensuring processes are in place, and paving the way to set franchise partners up for success. Glynn communicates regularly with franchise partners as they make their way through the opening process. Glynn's focus on strategizing to streamline processes, reduce delays, and enhance support for franchise partners has been among her key roles.

The Power of Passion and Support:

Glynn attributes much of her success to the unwavering support and passion shown by the leadership team at Capriotti’s and Wing Zone. She specifically recognizes the support and hands-on approach from CEO, Ashley Morris and President, Jason Smylie. The culture of genuine care and support at Capriotti's and Wing Zone has created a strong family-like atmosphere that extends to the franchise partners - which is one of the key differentiators between Capriotti’s and Wing Zone and other competing brands.

“Ashley and Jason live the core values everyday and make sure that we all live it too - that’s what makes us different,” said Glynn. For Glynn, it is important to make sure that all franchise partners know there is an open door policy at Capriotti’s and Wing Zone. “If you have a question and you need our support, pick up the phone and we will be there,” said Glynn. After owning and working with several other food & beverage brands, Glynn is confident in what Capriotti’s and Wing Zone provide - and the trajectory of where the brands are headed.
