Named after the founders’ grandfather, Capriotti’s began making craveable sandwiches in the Little Italy section of Wilmington, Delaware, in 1976. After years of success, in 1988 co-founders Lois and her brother Alan Margolet decided to open a second Capriotti’s location in New Castle, Delaware. Just three years later, they began franchising their restaurant concept nationwide. Their first franchise location was opened in 1993 in Las Vegas, and it’s still open today – 24 years later!
From the beginning, Capriotti’s has done it their way, refusing to skimp on quality or taste and building their business on family values. Customers noticed. But, when Lois created the Bobbie, she started a sandwich revolution! The Bobbie is a sandwich that pays homage to Aunt Bobbie’s day-after-Thanksgiving culinary creation composed of turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and mayo on a sub bun. All too familiar with the allure of Capriotti’s sandwiches, Ashley Morris and Jason Smylie became CAPAddicts while they were in college in Las Vegas. After consuming many, many subs, they decided to buy their first Capriotti’s franchise in 2004. Four years later, they bought the entire company!
